Getting around Krakow with a car is not always an easy task. The Poles have a different way of driving than from what you are used to. If you really want to get around by car, then it is best that you hire or ask someone else to drive for you. If you are staying at Krakow during the holidays or any other kind of event, be more careful; the police are more alert. Many people who have been to Krakow before choose trains over other modes of transportation. Just be warned if it’s your first time riding a train headed to Krakow, the train staff usually speak in their native tongue, so if you talk in English, take time learning a few Polish phrases to help you get by. Galeria Krakowska – This shopping center located beside the city’s main train station has lots of stores – all 270 of them; so this is definitely a shopper’s paradise. This is a very large shopping mall and since it opened in 2006, has attracted lots of people from tourists to locals alike. The great thing about this place is that this is open till 10pm in the evening (9pm on Sundays).

Sukiennice – Otherwise known as Cloth Hall or Drapers’ Hall, this place was once the place to go to when you want to buy wares or just trade with merchants. That time was definitely a long time ago. But that doesn’t mean that Sukiennice has lost its charm. This place is still a good stop over if you want to buy one-of-a-kind souvenirs to take home with you.

Galeria Kazimierz – This shopping mall is the perfect place to go to if you just wants to wander around a shopping mall or watch the latest movies. This shopping mall boasts of a state of the art movie theater and a really good looking façade. Many people come here even during the height of winter because of all the bargains one can get here. There are big (international) retailers here as well as Polish stores.

Old Town District – The Old Town District is famous for its history – as well as for being a good destination for those in the lookout for good bargains and unique buys. Not only will you get to see why UNESCO chose this place as a World Heritage Site when you visit this area, but you’ll also get to buy fantastic items and chill out at one of the café’s if ever your feet scream out in protest.

Krakow Plaza – If you go to Krakow with the kids, then you better check this place out. This modern addition has everything for everybody. There are lots of stores here that caters to children’s needs and if that isn’t enough, there is an IMAX theatre that will surely make any kid jump up and down in delight. If that isn’t enough, there’s also a so-called Fantasy Park – it has all the gaming needs that kids (or kids at heart) might crave.

Main Market Square – This is also known as Krakow Market Square. This place is really worth visiting because it is a really charming landmark in Krakow. In order for you to get to the Main Market Square, you can either ride a taxi or a bike. It depends on where you’re coming from. This place is a really good place to stop by even if there are no events or festivities going on.

Wawel Castle – This castle has been around for the longest time. The Wawel Castle has been considered by many as a model for other castles in the region when it was first built. Park Wodny – Not exactly the first place that comes to mind when going to Krakow but for those who are always on the lookout for adrenaline and adventure, this is the place to go to. This Aqua Park is great in a sense that even in winter you can come here because the water is warm. But if you don’t want to splash around, then you can come here for the gym – one of the best in the city.

Ethnographic Museum – Poland is synonymous to ‘rich culture’. So when you come to Krakow, might as well visit all the museums and galleries you want. The Ethnographic Museum is not a very famous museum but it should be. This is a hidden diamond amidst a sea of pearls. If you don’t have time to visit the rural areas, come here in order to see the different side of Poland.

Polakowski – A traditional Polish restaurant that offers, what else, but traditional food? Many locals come to eat at this place and would recommend this eatery if you want to try out their traditional (and delicious) food. The atmosphere here is very electric and you’ll definitely warm up to this charming restaurant found in Kazimierz. The food portions are definitely ample and the wine offered here will suit anyone’s taste.

Momo Krakow – A favorite among the vegetarian residents of Krakow, Momo offers a wide variety of food, plus, the atmosphere is really nice. But the best thing about this place is that this is a good alternative for those who want something different. Add to that the fact that all the ingredients used to prepare the food are organic. This is a truly delightful place for those who are on the lookout for something out of the ordinary

Restaurant Wierzynek – This is a very famous restaurant in Krakow. This is a known landmark in Krakow since this restaurant has been around for a really long time. The food offered by this restaurant is traditional – and very delicious – Polish style food. The service and staff here are excellent. When you come to this restaurant to dine, you will really get the value for your money.

Cul-De-Sac Restaurant – Cul-De-Sac isn’t exactly famous or a favorite among the locals. And the reason for that is not because the food or service is dull or uninspiring, but because this restaurant is a hidden gem. And the truth is that, the food here is actually delicious. If a quiet dinner or lunch is what you have in mind, then the Cul-De-Sac is a truly great place to go to.
